State of the RP: Sept 2022
Sep. 3rd, 2022 02:36 pmIt's been most of a year. Let's catch up.
State of the Mun
Since Jan/Feb of this year, here's where we've been at!
- Working
- Brought Caleb to Darrow
- Working more
- Wedding planning!
- Kate got a job and we moved. She doesn't get paid until end of September, which is :E rough
- Had a car die on me; crowd sourced the down payment for a new one, and then had it IMMEDIATELY (like within 24 hours) fuck off on me. Nothing I can do about it now, because Virginia hates consumers
- Generally feeling very ~scattered~
That's about it. My timeblindness persists, strongly, and I've been struggling with a lot of mental health, financial distress, and general hopelessness. But on the other hand, I've been consistently playing a World of Darkness homebrew game for like 100 years, and we started a Westmarch style D&D over the summer.
State of the Pups
We're on a consistent roster now, but it's...quiet around here. Part of that is struggling to tag out. A lot of it is a general lack of response to anything I put out publicly. On top of that, lots of losses.
Joseph Kavinsky -
Darrow: Lost Newt back in June. He's been living out of his apartment in midtown, and splitting his time there and with Alex and Danny (mostly at his own apartment, though). He still doesn't...really know what to do with the house. And, honestly, I don't really know what to do with him, or if that's strictly a "I need to get him some new CR to get him motivated". Losing Newt was a big blow for him. I wouldn't say he's on any particular chopping block - I just don't really know what I'm doing with him.
Penance: Is quieter than normal, but not for any particular reason beyond a lack of interest in current events. He continues to turn into a succubus over time, and is generally enjoying his life. There were some recent losses in the last few months, but he's mostly dealing with that and not too worried. I think he's the closest to a chopping block here - (1) it's an AC game and I continuously scrape by, and (2) I just have really not been engaging with events and TDMs very much recently.
Inej Ghafa-Rietveld -
Darrow: Nothing really new with Inej. She asked if there was anything romantic that might be potentially happening with Daniel and got the gentlest rejection, so she's been dealing with that a little bit. Otherwise, pretty quiet and chill on her end. Probably not near a chopping block, but she needs something to do.
Penance: Apped her and then dropped her a few months later because I brought her in with Darrow memories and our Kaz there was dropping, and I couldn't put her through losing her husband TWICE in one year.
Neil Perry - [open Log HERE]
Neil is...probably the nearest to a chopping block. He's feeling very listless, I don't feel like he has the same sort of engagement as he used to, he's had my last two logs and gotten no tags, I think his last engagement was maybe back in Spring (some event tags and also his item post)? And he's...sad to play, without close friendships or romance. So if I cut down on things, he'll probably be my first to go.
Caleb Widogast -
Darrow: Actually doing pretty well. Even though things are pretty quiet for him, he's settled in. I have him working at the library, in the same capacity that Dorian did all that time ago. He's also saving up the money to buy Bull and Dorian's old place, so he'll probably get to that in the coming month and I might do a little post for him moving out of his current apartment and into the cottage with it's little tower.
Penance: Wow. Doing so much. Working for Lucifer, married to Essek and Molly, had a whole event thing last month where Dark End Caleb replaced him and tried to kidnap Essek. I was worried about him in July because I didn't do shit but BOY HOWDY did I make up for it in August. Anyways, if it's between Caleb and Kavinsky, Caleb's absolutely sticking around.
Plot with Me - The rest of the year!
Do you have plans upcoming? Do you want to do something with any of my kids? Do you want to use any of my locations or features (The Downs, Arch Studios, the Wraith)? Are you interested in apping into a new game? TALK AT ME!!
My own plotting mostly includes:
- Caleb getting the house
- maybe a Shakespeare in the park day, even though Neil's not in it this year
- Kavinsky doing something about his house
- Inej looking for a house because the twins are getting big!
Ok. That's all.
